Heinze: Stop Brazil Playing

Gabriel Heinze has insisted that the way for Argentina to overcome Brazil is to ensure they can’t get into their stride.

“A victory depends on what we do. We can’t let them think so that we don’t have more problems. This confrontation is between a bunch of players who have been playing together for a long time [Brazil] and a team [Argentina] who have very high hopes,” said Heinze.

“The idea is to attack them but with organisation. Without going crazy or without despair, because they have fast players to explode on the counterattack. Not being careful would be a sin,” he concluded.

Heinze also commented about the decision to switch the match from the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires to the Gigante de Arroyito stadium in Rosario.

“I liked the idea because the national team belongs to the whole country, not only to one city. To say that we have changed from venue to win is false and only a lie. The objective is for the majority of the Argentines to be happy, whether they live in Buenos Aires or Rio Negro.”

Heinze backs Real Madrid

In spite of moving away from Real Madrid, Gabriel Heinze has still picked them as one of the clubs that can win the Champions League.

“Real Madrid have everything to win the Champions League, although Barcelona are a great team and the ones to beat”.

With the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo, Heinze thinks they have more of a chance. “He has this talent that no-one else has and he is getting fit, but I think one has to be patient because he will give many joys to the fans.”

Heinze Welcomes Ronaldo

Gabriel Heinze has welcomed new signing (and his ex-Manchester United team-mate) to Real Madrid, and can’t wait to play with him again.

“I have a year left on my contract at Madrid, but the media have said that I don’t figure in the plans of the new coach. I have not spoken with anyone about this. I would love to play with Ronaldo and Kaka.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will be a great buy for Real Madrid. He is a fantastic player and can succeed at any club in the world. I have not spoken with him yet but I am glad an agreement has been reached. I know that he is an ambitious player and his dream will be to become the best at Real Madrid.

“There is a lot of talk about the size of the transfer. But a player can only be judged on what he does every week on the field and not the amount he is getting paid.

“It must have been a hard decision for him to leave Manchester United, but I am sure he is ready for a new adventure.”

Heinze wants to Stay

Gabriel Heinze wants to stay at Real Madrid.

With the new President set to take over soon, Heinze has reassured fans that he only wants to be playing at the Bernabeu next season.

“Whatever is said in the press is not true 99 per cent of the time, I know what goes on. I have a year left on my contract and I am happy. The people who come in with the new project will put their view forward, and I mine, then we will sort it out as adults. I would like to stay” he told Spanish newspaper AS.

“Madrid have to win games, even though Osasuna are playing for more. We have a very professional dressing room and we cannot talk about what else goes on, aside from the result. We will not be going out there walking. We must respect the fact that they are playing for something. Wearing this shirt means you have responsibility,” he declared.

Heinze Calls for Focus

Gaby Heinze has called for his team-mates to concentrate on their next match, and no the up-and-coming ‘Clasico’ with Barcelona in a few weeks time.

Gaby told the official website: “We have to win all matches up until the Barcelona game, which is the crucial point as it enables us to cut the gap directly. We cannot rely on Barcelona not winning their matches.

“It is our duty to do what we do, which is winning. We just have to win and win, and expect them to lose points,” he said. “This is the only work that remains until the end of the season.”

Heinze: Altitude No Excuse

Gabriel Heinze has insisted that he will not use the altitude for their match against Bolivia as an excuse.

Whilst the game was played at 3,500 feet abovge sea level, Heinze feels that it would be wrong to use this to explain their shocking 6-1 defeat against Bolivia.

“We know what playing in the altitude implies, that it isn’t easy, but we won’t make this our excuse because our rivals were very superior to us, and we didn’t do things well,” said Heinze.

Heinze Accepts Blame

Valiant Gabriel Heinze has accepted that he was at fault for the Liverpool goal, but insists that Real Madrid have ever chance of beating Liverpool in the return leg.

Heinze told As: “I am responsible for the play during which Liverpool scored. We defended badly and the one (Benayoun) that we thought was the less likely to score claimed the winner.

“I have the belief that we will achieve a result (at Anfield) that will help us go through to the next round. The minimum we can do at Anfield is play with the same intensity and score at least one goal.
