QPR manager Mark Hughes is looking to improve the defence of the club and is targeting the former Real Madrid defender Gabriel Heinze, who is available on a free transfer after being released from his contract at the Italian club Roma.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid defender has vast experience of playing in the Premier league and is regarded as one of the best defenders in the world. Even though he has only a few years of playing football left in him, Mark Hughes has decided that his experience will be a valuable contribution to the team in the forthcoming Premier league season.
QPR had one of the worst defences in the league last season after they conceded two goals per game on average. If they repeat such kind of performance this season as well, then Mark Hughes is confident that they will not be able to survive in the Premier league let alone reach the heights of European football. QPR are also targeting Sunderland defender Kieron Richardson, who has the experience of playing as the left back for a number of seasons now. Even though he was traditionally a midfielder, he has been converted into a defensive player by the former manager Steve Bruce.
It is estimated that he will be available for less than £ 2 million, which makes the perfect for QPR after having spent a lot of money on attacking players in the summer transfer window. QPR manager Mark Hughes has already stated that the ambition of the club is to finish in the European places.
The former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze has been allowed to leave the Italian club Roma after his contract with the Italian club came to an end this season. He has been linked with a move to Spanish clubs as well, whilst twitter has consistenly put him in a liverpool shirt.
